Hello!  And welcome to the Beverley Beekeepers' Association website.

Here you will find information on how to become a Beekeeper, what to do if you find a swarm in your garden, what's happening at your local association and more. Please take a few moments to look around the site. If you do not find what you're looking for then do contact us.

With a growing interest in Honey Bees more people are taking up Beekeeping.  We provide a hub and collective support for  those involved in Beekeeping to keep up to date in the latest methods of management to promote the well being of the Honey Bees we care for.

A couple of hives take little looking after, provide the reward of honey to sell, makes a great positive contribution to the environment and always something of a talking point with family and friends.

If you're interested in becoming a Beekeeper please read this pdf document pdf link.  Feel free to download & print.

Tawny Mining Bee

It's a Tawny Mining
Bee.  Frequently seen in Spring and often mistaken for a Honey Bee.

Other flying insects you will see in Spring are quite large Bumble Bees.  These are the Queens that have emerged from hibernation & are now looking for a home or food to nurture this years young.
